In the past few years there has been an attempt to bring in healthier options, but for the most part the dinning hall and food court include your average Starbucks, subway, panda, so on and forth. Food wise the options aren’t the greatest. Everywhere you look is palm trees and clear skies (with the exception of your occasional rain shower) the university does a nice job maintaining the buildings and surrounding vegetation. In my experience the average class size outside of your one or two 100 level class is between 5-30 students. The professors are very much committed to getting to know everyone in their class, and not just going through the motions as a mundane robot you see at some larger schools. As a transfer student, coming in not knowing anyone, I have met many types of different students from hard working backgrounds. Senior: Miami has been a great place the past few years for me. The first thing she said was to the effect that I should be grateful because she is taking time out her lunch to help me. Since I had already spent the time and resources I decided to meet her at the other campus 20 minutes away only to have to wait another 15 minutes to meet with her. Given that I live a total drive time of 4.5 hours from the school I got to my appointment and was very disappointed to know that I was given the wrong location and that the administrator (when called by the front desk) told me we could simply talk over the phone instead of me going to see her at the other campus. I wish everyone would realize their life goals are within reach! The only downside is the administrative processes were time consuming and stressful - when applying for the program I made an appointment and was given a date, time, and location. Truthfully, I wish I had signed up sooner and realized that a leading four year institution has a lot to offer the atypical student. You will find the resources to become a student again. It's never too late to get your degree or to return for another degree. I find that I learn a lot from my older classmates and find it endearing classmates encourage the atypical student.
Saint Leo encourages people of all ages to apply. It's vital to your mental health to continue learning through out life. The 8 week term may sound intimidating but you have the chance to be completely submerged in the subject! There's also excellent career services for all.
The professors are engaging and offer feedback when you need it. The best part is I feel my classmates are diverse and open to discussing anything in a respectful, informative manner during each class. Sophomore: Absolutely best experience! Online classes are on par and resources are vast.
BEST UNIVERSITY FOR BUSINESS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY LICENSE
So far, I am loving it at Mercy College Dobbs Ferry and looking forward to earning my degree and getting my license as a BSN in Nursing!. The group chats which are extremely helpful for our courses seeing how hard Nursing can be, also opened doors to great friendships. I love dorming and the fact it faces the river side and I can easily get access to the computer lab in the Hudson hall to print my work instead of going all the way to the library. I'm intrigued and looking forward to returning back to campus. The student group chats, tutors located at the library to help me when I have difficulty in a course, and I look forward to the simulation in the labs for the semester for Pediatrics and Maternity lab course. You can find a locations to quietly study, and enjoy the weather.The nursing program during orientation made me realize that was where I wanted to be.
